Michael Jackson’s posthumous album (Eyeweekly)

In this strange Night of the Living Dead subsection of the music business, posthumous recordings have become a very lucrative industry unto themselves. When Forbes released their latest annual list of the top-earning dead celebrities in October, Jackson was at the top of the list. In the past year, his estate raked in over US$275 million bucks. That’s more than U2 and AC/DC (the year’s most successful still-breathing rockers) made, combined. The only celeb to make more than MJ in those 12 months was Oprah, and we all know she’s an immortal superbeing from the planet Pashmina. The King of Pop is dead. Long may he earn.
